For more than 40 years, Donald MacDonald (aka DJ Mac) has been a part of and created the scenic backdrops for some of the most iconic films of our lifetimes. Trained as a teen on the Sony Pictures Lot, he became an apprentice to legends of the motion picture industry who developed the method of scenic art. Combining the old and the new, DJ Mac honed his craft by inventing detailed techniques mixing color & texture to compliment the art director’s vision and help bring movies to life. With the introduction of the digital backdrop, he didn’t skip a beat - rather he invented techniques and ways to refine and retouch the digital/printed backdrop….
